Procedure to be a fully qualified architect in the UK
notes
*With the UK Architectural degrees accredited by RIBA and ARB, students are exempted from taking Part 1 and Part 2 examinations in the UK
for registration in UK
*RIBA-validated qualifications completed outside of the UK and EU (Eg: University of Malaya and UiTM) will need to be assessed for equivalence to UK Part 1 and 2 by ARB + need to complete UK Part 3 to be elegible for UK architect registration.

*The UK Architectural degrees need to be accredited by RIBA & ARB as well as recognised by LAM & PAM and you need to complete LAM Part 3 for you to be a qualified architect in Malaysia.

*With the UK Architectural degrees accredited by RIBA and ARB, students are exempted from taking Part 1 and Part 2 examinations in the UK
external examination with LAM
- Academic transcript and portfolio will be reviewed
- Sit for oral examination
- If failed the above, student need to sit for Integrated Design Project (IDP) Exam
- Design a building within a specified time period under guidance of supervisor appointed by LAM
- If pass, then can register as Graduate Architect
- LAM Part 3 examination involves
- Submission of applications and documentation
- Log book with record of all the practical experiences with supervision of professional architect
- Sit for oral & written examination

*7-8 years of study
*With a Malaysian Diploma of Bachelor of Degree, you cannot tranfer credit to the UK for the final year no matter how high your CGPA is.
